Milford community helps students heal after fatal stabbing of Maren Sanchez at Jonathan Law High School

MILFORD - Milford Mayor Ben Blake says that he is proud of his city for helping the students of Jonathan Law High School heal after the fatal stabbing of one of its student’s last week.

One of the facilities that has opened its doors to students has been the Kingdom Life Church Youth Center.

It will be holding an event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight to provide a sanctuary for students affected by the death of Maren Sanchez.

Four Seasons is also stepping up to cater a dinner after the 16-year-old stabbing victim's wake Thursday night free of charge.

The banquet hall was the original prom location for Jonathan Law High School students.

Police say Maren Sanchez was stabbed inside a school hallway Friday by one of her peers.
