MILFORD - Milford is just one southwestern Connecticut community that could be vulnerable to Hurricane Irene.

The city's firefighters are working closely with the city's mayor, as well as the Red Cross to prepare for the worst-case scenario as Irene moves closer.

Residents along the water in Milford say they feel especially vulnerable when a hurricane threatens southwestern Connecticut.

Fire officials are also urging residents to sign up for the reverse 911 system in the event Hurricane Irene hits hard.
