Milford man attacked at UConn dies

MILFORD - A Milford man attacked at UConn's Spring Weekend has died.

Police say Jafar Karzoun, 20, passed away Saturday at Hartford Hospital.

A memorial service for Karzoun was held yesterday.

Edi Rapo, 19, of East Hartford, has been charged with assault in connection to the attack of Karzoun. Police say Rapo punched Karzoun in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head.

Rapo was arraigned and is free on bond. He will enter a plea in court Wednesday. Rapo's attorney reportedly says his client was defending somebody else.

Police have not said if the charges will be upgraded.
