MILFORD - City of Milford officials are warning to residents to take caution as Tropical Storm Andrea moves up the East Coast.

The storm, which is expected to hit the region at some point Friday, will not be nearly as powerful as Sandy, but will bring heavy rain and localized flooding. Mayor Ben Blake is asking people in flood-prone areas to move their vehicles to higher ground.

Public works crews have been out during much of Thursday clearing storm drains and catch basins.

The city's annual Fair on the Green event is scheduled to start Friday rain or shine. Organizers say they will use weights and cinder-blocks to curtail the effects of strong winds.
