MILFORD - Milford residents are getting ready as Hurricane Joaquin strengthens.

Many still remember the damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.

Residents are taking lawn furniture and other loose items inside. They say the objects could become missiles with the strong winds of a storm.

The city is also taking precautions like sending crews to clean storm drains.

As of Wednesday night, Joaquin had strengthened to a Category 3 hurricane.
