MILFORD - Milford residents say they are relieved that Hurricane Earl only brought minimal rain, wind and damage.

Gray clouds filled the sky for most of the day, with short periods of light rain. By early afternoon, the National Hurricane Service had lifted a tropical storm warning for the area.

Residents say they had prepared for the worst just in case Earl came onshore with a vengeance.

Labor Day weekend is busy for many of the city's businesses, so store owners say they are expecting large crowds under sunny skies.
