Milford school may be closed

MILFORD - More than a thousand people turned out last night in Milford to discuss how to close a $2 million gap in the school budget.

School officials have four plans to cut funding. One of them involves closing Simon Lake Elementary School.

Another proposal would restructure the elementary school system by grouping kindergarten through second grade and third through fifth grades.

Parents who were at the meeting say they're frustrated that they can't be part of the decision-making process and want to know if the decision will come down to a vote.

A decision on the cuts is expected next month.
