STAMFORD - Fire officials say a van drove into an empty Stamford day care classroom Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say the blue Honda minivan broke through 778 Long Ridge Road at around 3 p.m. According to police, the nine children who were in the Bright Horizons day care room had just headed outside before the crash.

Police say there are no reported major injuries. A building inspector will go through the entire structure before determining whether or not it will be operational Thursday.
