BRIDGEPORT - Pennsylvania State Police arrested a man who allegedly kidnapped his 6-year-old daughter and killed her mother in Bridgeport early Friday morning.

Oscar Hernandez, 39, also allegedly stabbed the mother's friend, who is in critical condition at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

He allegedly burst into a violent rage after the girl's mother and her friend arrived home following a late night out.

The daughter, Aylin Sofia Hernandez, is now in the care of authorities, police say.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert in several states after Hernandez's car was believed to have been spotted in the Bronx. Pennsylvania State Police later tweeted that the suspect was in custody following a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.

Police say Hernandez is an immigrant in the country illegally who has been deported in the past.
