Money coming to repair Bridgeport parks

BRIDGEPORT - Gov. Jodi Rell says $1 million has been allocated for improvements and renovations to Bridgeport parks, damaged by a tornado this summer.

Rell says the money will be used to fix up Washington and Knowlton Parks.

She says about half of Washington Park's trees were uprooted by the June 24 tornado.

The money is expected to be approved when the state Bond Commission meets next week.
