More than 400 stopped for speeding in 2 days

HARTFORD - (AP) - State police say they have stopped morethan 430 people for speeding and responded to hundreds of otherviolations so far this holiday weekend.

Extra troopers have been patrolling Connecticut roads andhighways over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Authorities say theywill be using sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols throughSunday.

A news release Friday morning said that in addition to thespeeding tickets issued since midnight Wednesday, state troopershave stopped people for more than 800 moving violations includingcell phone use and aggressive driving.
