BRIDGEPORT - Police are still searching for the driver who struck and critically injured a toddler and fled the scene nearly two months ago.

Corey Gordon, 2, was holding his mother's hand on Capitol Avenue back on April 30 when he was hit. The boy suffered severe head and brain trauma among other injuries, and is currently in therapy.

The victim's mother, Erika Carmlee, says her son's smile allows her to fight through the pain.

A fundraiser is scheduled for this weekend in Bridgeport to help cover the boy's medical expenses.
