BROOKLYN - A wake for the woman shot and killed in Washington, D.C. following a police pursuit was held Monday in Brooklyn.

Miriam Carey, of Stamford, was killed earlier this month after attempting to ram a barrier at the White House before leading DC police officers on a chase to the U.S. Capitol.

Carey's family says she was suffering from severe postpartum depression at the time.

Carey's 1-year-old daughter was in the car at the time of the incident, but was unharmed. The girl is currently being cared for by her father.

Her funeral is scheduled for Tuesday.
