MTA: Man fatally struck by train was lying on the tracks

FAIRFIELD - MTA officials have released new information on the fatal train accident that happened Saturday night in Fairfield.

Investigators have identified the victim as 51-year-old Michael Lang of New Milford. Lang was struck and killed behind the Super Stop and Shop on Kings Highway Cutoff at around 6:30 p.m.

Officials say Lang was lying on the tracks and died instantly. Police say Lang was charged with trespassing about a month ago in the same location where he was killed.

Police say they are still investigating the incident.
