EASTON - More than 60 percent of Easton is still in the dark following last Sunday's storm and many are questioning United Illuminating's response in the town.

The town's first selectman spoke with United Illuminating today about the situation.

There are now eight United Illuminating crews working in the town.  Town officials say United Illuminating has made restoring power to the two schools and senior center a top priority.

In the meantime, the police department is handing out water and has a hose available for people to fill their own containers to bring home.

Helen Keller Middle School is also open from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. every day for people to take showers.
