STRATFORD - Multiple bomb threats were made against Stop & Shop locations across southwestern Connecticut today, police say.

According to Stratford police, an anonymous caller told state police that a bomb would detonate at the Stratford store at 11:55 a.m. Police say they stationed officers by the doors and searched the building, but did not evacuate.

Many customers say they were not made aware of the threat.

Police attempted to trace back the anonymous tip, but only discovered it had been made from a prepaid cell phone.
