Murder suspect faces several charges after chase

WESTPORT - A Massachusetts murder suspect is behind bars this morning after he led police on a day-long manhunt through southwestern Connecticut.

It started after police spotted the suspect in the victim's car in Fairfield.

Police say Thomas Gardner, 35, then took off on I-95.

They say Gardner crashed into several cars and ran through downtown Westport before being taken into custody.

He faces charges in Fairfield and will be questioned by police in Massachusetts about the murder in the next few days.
