NORWALK - A Norwalk bakery is hoping to reopen Wednesday after an explosion right outside its doors Tuesday morning blew three manhole covers out of the pavement.

The explosion happened on Main Street outside Muro's New York Bakery. Firefighters say the explosion shattered the glass in the bakery's windows and sent a car parked partially over the manhole soaring about 4 feet into the air.

Connecticut Light and Power briefly cut power so repairs could be made underground. Power has since been restored.
