FAIRFIELD - More than 500 National Guard families were reunited for the holidays at a special ceremony in Hartford Wednesday.
Connecticut residents raised more than $300,000 to bring troops from the 102nd Infantry home. Gov. M. Jodi Rell had implored residents for donations after the division was mobilized for deployment in November.
The troops have 10 days at home before being returned to their mobilization station in Indiana. They will leave for Afghanistan shortly after.
