Nelson Rivera charged following police chase

WESTPORT - A man from Bridgeport is facing charges in Westport after he was accused of leading police on a chase on I-95.

Officers say Nelson Rivera, 35, was driving a car with plates that belonged to another car.

They say he took off when officers tried to pull him over, and he nearly hit several police cars during the chase.

Police say he eventually pulled over on Sasco Hill Road in Fairfield.     

Rivera faces multiple charges including attempted assault on an officer.
