NEW CANAAN - Members of the New Canaan Girls Varsity Ice Hockey are remembering a college student killed in a car accident Tuesday.

Kelsey Durkin, 21, was killed in a car crash that injured nine people. Durkin was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt. The driver faces a DUI charge.

New Canaan Girls Varsity Ice Hockey coach Richard Bulin says it was nearly impossible to explain to the team what happened. He says what he does know is that her legacy will live on.

Durkin played hockey at New Canaan High School for four years, graduating in 2010.

At the next home game on Dec. 21, the team plans to raise a banner with Durkin's name and number.
