NEW CANAAN - A group of New Canaan residents is trying to get the town to stop selling passes to out-of-towners for the pool at Waveny Park.

The group, called "Friends of the Waveny Pool," started an online petition, which has been signed by more than 100 people. The group claims that allowing non-residents to buy passes has left the pool overcrowded and less clean.

Towns officials say they started selling passes to non-residents recently because attendance at the pool has dropped over the last few years.
