New Canaan H.S. alum dies in fire at Marist College

NEW CANAAN - Three people were killed in a house fire Saturday near Marist College, including a New Canaan native.

Kevin Johnson and two female Marist college students died as a fire tore through an off-campus house near the New York school. One of the female victims was from Woodbridge, and Johnson had graduated from New Canaan High School in 2008.

"He had a lot of life to him and there's no telling how far he could have gone," said Tony Pavia, the high school's former principal. "When someone's cut down at this point in their life, it's a tragedy."
