New Canaan home invasion may have been targeted

NEW CANAAN - New Canaan police say a violent home invasion this weekend where a woman was tied up might not have been random.

Investigators say at least two men broke into a home on Lambert Road early Saturday morning.

They say the suspects tied a 60-year-old woman up on her bed and put a pillow over her face so she couldn't see them.

The men took about $40,000 in items.

Police say the victim's home is under construction and the door was unlocked.

They believe the suspects might have targeted this house and don't think other neighbors are at risk.
