NEW CANAAN - A spokesperson for the New Canaan Police Department says Chief Ed Nadriczny has sent a letter to the state crime lab asking for officials to expedite forensic tests in the death of 82-year-old Jayaraman Krishna.
Police say Krishna was fatally hit by an SUV while walking to a mailbox on Oenoke Ridge Road last month. The driver, a New Canaan woman, did not turn herself in until a few days later.
Nadriczny says if the lab is unable to process his request it could take four to six months to decide if the driver will be charged in connection with the accident.
