NEW CANAAN - Police in New Canaan have launched an investigation after five teens were found drunk at a dance last week.

Authorities say five high school students, all of whom are either freshmen or sophomores, were intoxicated at the Outback Teen Center last Friday night. One of the students was hospitalized after becoming physically ill, but has since been released.

The president of the facility's board of directors says he is not sure where the students got the alcohol. However, fellow students say underage drinking is a growing problem.

The center hosted a meeting for parents Tuesday night, and will hold another one next week to determine repercussions for students who engage in similar behavior in the future.
