NEW CANAAN - Town officials say a sign placed at New Canaan's train station that aimed to regulate cab drivers in the area has been removed.
Cab drivers had complained about the wording on the sign, which prohibited taxi drivers from parking at the train station overnight, among other stipulations.
The sign also barred taxi drivers from soliciting commuters for rides.
Steven Garcia, who owns A1 Car Service Inc., says that the ban on parking is illegal. He also says it's his right to ask commuters if they need a ride when they get off a train early in the morning.
New Canaan First Selectman Robert Mallozzi says the sign was put up by Public Works and has been taken down amid these concerns.
He says it will eventually be reworked and reinstalled.
