GREENWICH - A New Haven man is in the hospital following a crash with a tractor-trailer on I-95 in Greenwich.

The accident happened early Saturday morning on the northbound side of the highway between exits 2 and 3. State police say Tavonn Jenkins hit a patch of frozen snow and crashed into the back of the trailer.

They say it took crews more than an hour to cut him out of the car. Troopers say Jenkins was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and that if the car had gone any further under the truck, he would not have survived.
