STAMFORD - A new report from the Stamford Advocate reveals more potentially damaging statements by Democratic Senate candidate and state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal about his military service record.
The report quotes Blumenthal as saying at a 2008 event, "I wore the uniform in Vietnam and many came back and to all kinds of disrespect. Whatever we think of war, we owe the men and women of the armed forces our unconditional support."
The report comes after a New York Times article earlier this week included a video clip of Blumenthal saying he had served in Vietnam.
On Tuesday, Blumenthal, who served six years in the Marine reserves but was never deployed overseas, admitted he had misspoke on a few occasions about his service.
Meanwhile, Republican challenger Linda McMahon spoke last night for the first time about the report admitting she provided the New York Times with the video clip.
