NORWALK - A new playground opened Sunday at Oyster Shell Park in Norwalk to honor the memory of one of the children killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

It's part of the Sandy Ground Project, which is building a playground for each of the 26 victims of the shooting.  The Oyster Shell Park playground honors Allison Wyatt by incorporating some of the things she loved.

The playground's red balloons, red swings and red goldfish all symbolize things that were special to Allison. Her favorite color was red, too.

Hundreds of people came out to see the new park. While the ribbon-cutting was held, an airplane flew overhead with a special message about kindness.

The next playground will be built in New London in honor of elementary school student Emilie Parker.
