HARTFORD - A new poll shows the recent controversy over his military service has done little to affect the voters' opinion of Democratic Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal.

A Quinnipiac poll has him leading Republican challenger Linda McMahon by a margin of 56% to 31%.

More than half the voters surveyed said Blumenthal's misstatements about serving in the Vietnam War was of little importance in the race.
