New poll shows governor's race virtually even

HAMDEN - A new poll just out this morning finds the governor's race is now in a dead heat.

The Quinnipiac University poll shows Republican Tom Foley has erased Democrat Dan Malloy's lead in the governor's race.

Malloy is leading Foley 45 percent to 42 percent among likely voters, a virtual tie when the margin of error is factored in.

Malloy, the former mayor of Stamford, led Foley, the former U.S. ambassador to Ireland, 50 percent to 41 percent in a Quinnipiac poll two weeks ago.
