NORWALK - A report released on Thursday says that Connecticut roads are some of the worst in America.

The nonprofit group TRIP says in its report that almost three-quarters of local roads are poor or mediocre. The study also says that the average local driver spends more than $700 a year in repairs.

TRIP says that frigid Minneapolis actually has the nation's best roads, along with Nashville and Atlanta.

In Connecticut, the new state budget spends more than $600 million on highways.

Gov. Malloy wants to devote $10 billion to road and rail improvements.
