With the new year starting, new laws are going effect statewide.Among the new laws taking effect is a requirement for people wishing to ride motorcycles

NORWALK - With the new year starting, new laws are going effect statewide.

Among the new laws taking effect is a requirement for people wishing to ride motorcycles to take a 15-hour class before getting their license.

Also taking effect is a tough law on telemarketers. Under the new law, a telemarketer calling a number on the do-not-call list will land the telemarketer up to an $11,000 fine.
