NORWALK - Officials say New Year's revelers coupled with icy roads have been keeping first responders very busy on the first day of the year.

Accidents and wrecks riddled the roads all over southwestern Connecticut this holiday weekend, officials say. Several people were hospitalized in Bridgeport and Stamford, and police say they are still investigating the accidents.

Police say alcohol-related accidents usually spike around New Year's. They are reminding people to make arrangements for a ride home or a place to spend the night when drinking.
