WESTPORT - Westport officials say crews today put the finishing touches on the newly renovated Levitt Pavillion for the Performing Arts so that it will be ready for its grand opening this weekend.
Town officials say the pavilion’s renovation had been in the works for years and that the pavilion has been under construction for about 10 months.
The original stage was replaced with a temporary one years ago. After months of construction, a new one is now complete.
Town officials say the pavilion is now equipped with a new sound board, a new stage and a new lawn.
The park will also have an improved river walk, picnic groves, an information booth and indoor restrooms.
Nine-time Grammy Award winner Jose Feliciano will perform at Sunday’s grand opening. Feliciano will be the first artist to perform on the new stage.
All tickets to Sunday's grand opening have reportedly been sold out, but there will be about 40 more events for crowds to enjoy this summer.
