NEWTOWN - Newtown Veterinary Specialists have organized a ceremony to say thank you to the therapy dogs that were on the scene in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shooting.

Many of the dogs met with families of students on the day of the tragedy.

One parent says the presence of the dogs filled a void that otherwise could not have been filled, and that her daughter only felt more comfortable seeing the dogs every day at school.

Officials say the dogs have come from all over the country and continue to offer support to the community.
