NEWTOWN - Officials in Newtown say they will not hold any town-wide events to mark the anniversary of a deadly school shooting.

December 14 will mark one year since the shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Twenty children and six educators were killed that day.

The town's first selectwoman says the community is choosing to honor the victims in ways that are "quiet, personal and respectful."
