NEWTOWN - Gov. Dannel Malloy toured businesses throughout Newtown today to see firsthand the economic progress that has been made since the Sandy Hook shootings.
After the shootings, business owners say the presence of police, media and other visitors prevented traffic from getting to many local businesses. As the months went on, the owners say business has picked up.
Gov. Malloy says many businesses suffered because every parking space was filled with extra visitors following the tragedy. He says the state helped by providing grant money to businesses that suffered losses.
