STRATFORD - Just about one month after the Newtown mass school shooting and days after a gun scare and school lockdown in Stratford, officials held a school safety discussion for parents Thursday night.

Wooster Middle School Principal Jack Lynch says he wanted to make sure parents understood the safety procedures and protocols.

In a lockdown situation, Lynch says he will announce through the loud speaker the word lockdown three times. School officials say teachers then lock their rooms and students sit away from their doors. They say they call 911 and parents should be notified by the emergency alert system.

The school was locked down after four men with pellet guns were found on school grounds Tuesday.
