NORWALK - A Norwalk woman who hit and killed a pedestrian in Stamford almost two years ago is not getting prison time.

An attorney for Natalie Gainer says his client has been allowed into a program for first-time offenders after the accident that killed Janice Pielert in 2014.

A jury could not reach a verdict in the case in April, and Gainer still faces a reckless driving charge.

If she completes the program, her attorney says the charge could be cleared from her record.
