WESTPORT - A nonprofit group has honored Gov. Dannel Malloy for his leadership in passing gun control laws following the Newtown massacre.
Leaders of Connecticut Against Gun Violence thanked the governor at Christ and Holy Trinity Church in Westport Tuesday evening.
More than 100 people gathered to listen to the governor and other officials discuss the progress made regarding gun safety laws.
Officials say although it was nice to celebrate some victories, it is also a reminder of the work that still needs to be done in Washington to pass federal gun control laws.
