NORWALK - Members of the Haitian-American Society were inspired to hold a meeting at Norwalk City Hall Wednesday to help in the relief effort for those affected by the Haitian earthquake.

Gerro Azor and Gorvens Lisere, two members of the group, say they were born and raised in Haiti. They add that they have not heard from their family, who live in their native country, and are willing to do anything they can to support the victims.

To make a donation to the Haitian-American Society relief effort, send checks or a money order to United Haitian-American Society, 304 Main Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851. Or, call Vice Chair Gerry Azor at 1-866-413-8427.

Anyone seeking information on Americans in Haiti can call the U.S. State Department at 1-888-407-4747.
