NORWALK - Some students at Norwalk Community College are learning about American culture in a whole new way this semester.

Professor Gary Carlson says the sociology course, Elvis Presley and the American Dream, examines Elvis' rise to fame, his eventual fall and his affect on American history and culture.

Carlson says the course is not a music class, but rather a sociology class from a new and interesting perspective. He says he got the idea from students who took his sociology course about rock and roll.
