NORWALK - A Norwalk couple is maintaining a positive outlook while battling Alzheimer’s.

Having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease six years ago, Dick Purdy says he tries not to dwell on the inevitable. His wife, Gloria, says he is frustrated by his condition, but that he refuses to wallow in self-pity.

Purdy is a retired surgeon and is now very involved with local support groups.

The couple will attend the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Norwalk on Sunday, Sept. 29.
