NORWALK - An early morning fire in Norwalk damaged two buildings and left 10 people homeless today.

Fire officials say the flames broke out inside a Mexican restaurant on Wall Street at around 4:45 a.m. and spread to the apartments above.

Three of the people living in the affected units were forced to jump from the building onto train tracks 20 feet below to escape.

Firefighters say four people were injured and two had to be taken to the hospital. They are expected to recover.

Service was also suspended on the Metro-North Danbury Line while the fire was raging.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
