NORWALK - Norwalk's fire chief called on residents today to help keep the city's fire victims fund afloat.
The fund was started a little more than two years ago, after an Ohio Avenue house was destroyed in a massive propane explosion. The blast left three people with nothing.
State Sen. Bob Duff lent a helping hand today, giving the fund $1,800 that he collected over the holidays. Fire officials were pleased to receive the donation, but say much more is needed this time of year - as there is typically an increase in the number and severity of calls during the winter.
