NORWALK - A Norwalk firefighter accused of stealing equipment from the department has been fired.

The Norwalk Fire Commission voted unanimously to terminate Jason Penna's contract last night. 

He was arrested earlier this month for allegedly stealing equipment from a fire truck.

Penna had been a 16-year veteran of the Norwalk Fire Department.
