Norwalk has its own 'Joe the Plumber'

NORWALK - The Norwalk version of ?Joe the Plumber? saw many comparisons between his small business and the one mentioned several times during Wednesday?s presidential debate.

?Joe the Plumber,? an Ohio man, became an overnight sensation after the presidential debate mentioned him and his business multiple times during the third and final debate between Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz).

Norwalk resident Bill Duncan, who owns his own plumbing business, says it was easy to identify with ?Joe the Plumber.?

?They?re trying to relate to the average guy,? says Duncan. ?He?s trying to go to work, feed the family and pay the mortgage.?

Duncan says that his business is being directly affected by the shaky market. His business has been slow and calls for service have barely been trickling in.

Duncan hopes every American will take the opportunity to learn what each candidate stands for before voting on Nov. 4.
