NORWALK - Norwalk High School's marching band returned home this morning after winning big at a national band competition in Ohio.

The Norwalk Marching Bears placed second out of 44 marching bands from across the country at the Winter Guard International Sport of the Arts Dayton World Championships.

Marching band members say this is the first time the high school came home with something from a national competition. The band had been rehearsing for 16 hours a week for the competition.

Families and fellow classmates were on hand at the high school this morning, with balloons and posters, to greet the band as they came home on their bus.
